Thursday, Feb. 2

7 a.m. – 1600 block of Summit Street: The victim said someone smashed out the rear-passenger-side window of his 1998 Honda Accord and took a CD player.

2:50 p.m. – 1400 block of Indianola Avenue: The victim said an acquaintance from her neighborhood knocked at her door and asked if he could use the restroom. He went upstairs. When he returned, he said there was a pair of shoes in the toilet. She went upstairs to check. When she returned, the man was gone and more than $400 was missing from her purse.

4 p.m. – 400 block of East Northwood Avenue: The victim said someone broke into his car by smashing the passenger-side window and stole a CD player.

Friday, Feb. 3

12:14 a.m. – 100 block of West Ninth Avenue: The victim said her ex-boyfriend came over to talk to her, but she refused to let him inside. He began to bang on the door, but she would not let him in. He then walked to the rear of the building and began throwing rocks at the window. He used a broom to smash out the window. He was apprehended at the scene by the Columbus Division of Police, but the victim did not want to file charges.

2 p.m. – 1400 block of Indianola Avenue: The victim said someone who used to live in the residence entered and caused a large amount of damage. The person used a hammer to destroy the walls, countertops, sinks and plumbing.

4:30 p.m. – Double-digit block of East Seventh Avenue: Someone stole a 1992 Oldsmobile Achieva.

5 p.m. – Panera Bread, 1619 N. High St.: The victim said someone walked over to her table, took her cell phone and ran out of the store.

6 p.m. – Mike’s Carryout, 128 E. Eighth Ave.: The victim said someone was being evicted out of an apartment by the victim’s father. The evicted person, who had just vandalized the apartment, became angry and threatened the victim. “F-ck you and your dad. I’ll f-ck you up,” he said.

Saturday, Feb. 4

1:15 a.m. – 200 block of East Lane Avenue: Officers were dispatched to the building on a possible breaking and entering in progress. When the officers arrived, they passed a man wearing a green coat and a hat casually walking into an apartment on the same floor as the caller. When the officers spoke with the caller, he said the person was wearing a green coat and a hat. The officers then went to talk to the man they had passed earlier. When the man answered the door, the officers saw a green coat laying on the couch and asked the man who had just walked in. He initially denied it, but later admitted that he had just walked into the apartment. Todd C. Haery, 20, of the 200 block of East Lane Avenue was arrested for burglary.

1:30 a.m. – Corner of East Lane Avenue and North High Street: The victim was knocked to the ground, then punched and kicked by two men. Joshua Lovett, 20, address unknown, and Bradley Quesenberry, 19, of the 4300 block of Nipigon Drive, Columbus, were arrested for the assault.

3:30 a.m. – Double-digit block of West Eighth Avenue: Officers were dispatched on a report of several people breaking into an apartment. Officers found that the front door had been forced open, and the apartment appeared to be ransacked. Nothing appeared to be missing or out of the ordinary; the couch cushions and mattress were turned over. No resident could be found or contacted at the time of the report to determine if any property was stolen.

4:10 a.m. – 100 block of East 15th Avenue: The victim said someone smashed the bottom half of his bedroom window.

7 a.m. – 300 block of Chittenden Avenue: The victim said someone threw a brick through her upstairs bedroom window.

10:52 a.m. – Double-digit block of East 17th Avenue: The victim said she had left her apartment unlocked and walked to McDonald’s. When she returned, she saw through the side window the shadow of someone in her living room. As she entered the apartment, she saw the living room closet door close. She then went next door to call the police, and she saw someone leaving her apartment. No property was reported missing, and the scene was processed for fingerprints.

7 p.m. – 1800 block of Indianola Avenue: The victim said he returned to his home to find that someone had broken a religious item of his. He said that he lives with seven other people and is concerned for his safety and well-being.

8 p.m. – 200 block of East Eighth Avenue: The victim said her neighbor saw her ex-boyfriend enter her home. The victim said the ex-boyfriend took clothes that she had bought for him and was planning to return, shoes that belonged to their child, and $139 from her income tax refund. She said he also smashed her phone on the street as he left. She said the ex-boyfriend was in her house earlier and that he must have unlocked the back window to gain re-entry, as he had done that before.

8 p.m. – 300 block of Alden Avenue: The victim said he had gone to the area of East Fifth Avenue and Joyce Avenue, taking his 9 mm handgun. When he returned about 30 minutes later, he discovered his gun was missing from his jacket pocket.
