I’m writing in response to your editorial “Immigrant Tuition/Arizona Law Cheats Immigrants.” First of all, the students you say are being cheated are Mexican citizens. If they were legal immigrants or born in this country they very simply would be allowed in-state tuition. Too bad for them that their native country doesn’t do more to enable them to enjoy the kind of education and lifestyle they desire and need. You express, without seeming to think about it, a very socialist opinion when you say that everyone should be entitled to equally share the largesse that legal citizens pay in taxes. Many citizens of this country do not agree with this. When you start paying very high taxes because you are earning more with a college degree, you might feel differently.
