Women’s Soccer: Ohio State earns third straight win in victory over Notre Dame

After starting the season with two straight losses, Ohio State earned its third win in the row, defeating Notre Dame 1-0 on Sunday.

In the 80th minute, freshman midfielder Blair Cowan scored her first career collegiate goal, recording the deciding goal after sophomore defender Izzy Rodriguez found her on a cross to the left wing.

Cowan’s game-winning goal continued Ohio State’s three-game streak of a freshman recording the game-winning goal.

Senior goalkeeper Devon Kerr recorded her third clean sheet of the 2018 season, recording five saves on 12 shots in Sunday’s win.

Ohio State will look to keep the winning streak alive on Friday, as the Buckeyes return home to host Florida Gulf Coast at 5 p.m. at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
