Anyone interested in 24 hours of blood, gore, and green vomit will want to head east to Movies 16 in Gahanna for its first annual 24 hour horror marathon.Taking over the now non-existent Drexel North annual horror marathon, Movies 16 will be offering not one but two 24 hour binges of horror, said Brandon Hobby, assistant manager in charge of promotions. The first showing will begin at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, Hobby said. Round two will start at 8 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26.For those who get cramped sitting through just one movie, there will be a 10 minute intermission between films. And if popcorn and Twizzlers aren’t your food of choice, Movies 16 will have everything from pizzas and subs to coffee and muffins for sale in the theater. ‘We’re trying to keep people from having to leave,’ Hobby said.No one will be permitted to bring food into the theater, except for patrons of A.Rome.A, the neighboring coffee shop. A.Rome.A will extend its hours to accommodate movie goers and supply the theater with coffee during the hours the shop is closed, Hobby said.’The Omen,’ ‘The Lost Boys,’ ‘Seven,’ ‘The Shining,’ ‘The Exorcist,’ ‘A Bucket of Blood’ and ‘Children of the Corn’ are among the movies to appear at the marathon. There will also be animated shorts, including some old Warner Bros. clips, and old movie trailers, Hobby said.If blood and pizza aren’t enough there will also be a costume contest, and trivia questions. Many local businesses have contributed prizes.’We’ll try and do it so that everyone who comes gets something,’ Hobby said.Tickets for Movies 16’s marathon are $20 and can be purchased at World Record and The Laughing Ogre on High Street. Movies 16 is not the only place celebrating the Halloween season. The Student Events Committee’s feature film series will feature ‘The Lost Boys’ Oct. 25 and 26, and the classic thriller ‘Psycho’ Oct. 30, said SEC member Tim Parish, a senior majoring in history and mathematics.
