MtvU cameras rolled as Sean Alto’s uproarious celebration took place Tuesday night after he was announced the winner of MtvU’s Student Bodies Contest.

Over the past six weeks, two Ohio State students, Drew Thompson and Sean Alto, have been competing for an all-expense paid spring-break trip to Panama City Beach, sponsored by MtvU.

The winner would be the one who had gained the most muscle-mass over the six-week period.

Both contestants had his own personal trainer. The red team was made up of Thompson and his trainer Matt Bernard and the blue team was Alto and his trainer Brandon Sojka.

Both trainers had their own ideas of how best to quickly increase the muscle mass of their trainee.

“When it comes to training, I like to do it in a safe and timely manner,” Sojka said.

Bernard had a different approach to the competition.

His goal was to train hard so that Thompson would someday look like he was “carved out of a piece of granite,” he said.

Sojka’s method obviously worked for Alto, who had no previous training experience.

“Before, all I really did is ride my bike to work,” Alto explained.

Thompson said that before the bodies contest, he had tried to get to the gym to workout more but drinking kept getting in his way of getting in shape.

Even though Alto had little experience with training, Sojka’s method of combining weightlifting with cardiovascular routines paid off big for Alto, who has lost three to four notches on his belt already.

After all their hard work, both competitors lost 2.7 percent body fat, but Alto won on the max treadmill test going for 6:10 while Thompson went for 6:01.

Win or lose, Alto said previously that getting healthier was most important to him.

Lucky for him, he is slimmer, healthier, more muscular and on his way to Panama City.
