Stress Recess Series
This week’s Stress Recess Series will feature “Capoeira: Intro to an Afro-Brazilian Art” from 11 a.m.- noon tomorrow in the Stecker Lounge of the Ohio Union. Speech by Margarita Alcantara-Tan
Margarita Alcantara-Tan will challenge mainstream misconceptions of Asian Americans through a mix of spoken word and song at 7:30 p.m. tonight in the Ohio Union Conference Theater. She will explore what it means to be American, Filipina, Asian, mixed blood, queer and feminist.
The Next Thousand Years of Music
Patrick Kavanaugh, one of the foremost scholars in the field of music, is hosting a luncheon titled “The Next Thousand Years of Music” from 11:30 a.m.-1:15 p.m. tomorrow at the Faculty Club. The luncheon is $15 and open to any OSU faculty and staff. Call 267-8323 to make reservations.
Spiritual Lives of the Great Composer
Patrick Kavanaugh will also hold a concert and presentation, “The Spiritual Lives of the Great Composers,” at 7:30 p.m. tomorrow in Weigel Hall. The event is part of the Veritas Forum, an interdisciplinary quest for truth forum at OSU being held through Friday. The event is free and open to public.
Free video game tournament
The Ohio Union Activities Board and Fun Recreational Evening Events’ fourth annual “Get in the Game” video game tournament will be held on Saturday at 8 p.m. in the Ohio Union. Highlights this year include a sixteen-player Halo tournament, Dance Dance Revolution, and a new EA Sports game.
