I am responding to Faith Stalsmith’s letter in Monday’s paper. Faith, I simply don’t understand why you labeled Stacey Kole’s speech last Wednesday as a “bait-and-switch” technique by Campus Crusade. First of all, her answer that a relationship with Christ is the only way a person can become 100 percent healed was just an honest answer from her heart, not an evangelistic sell tactic. It seems as though you wanted her to compromise on her beliefs and life experience in her speech, and that is too much to ask.She had a real life, personal experience to impart to you, and her answer to your question was part of that. Instead of looking down on her and Campus Crusade for being honest with you; you should be happy that she gave you a straight answer. Regardless of whether you agree with what she said or not. Secondly, it was no secret that Campus Crusade was one of the sponsors for the event (as well as some other sponsors) and that one of their main focuses is sharing about Jesus. You should have known that Christ would be an integral part of the night. Calling Kole’s speech a “bait-and-switch” tactic is empty and false labeling.
