The Ohio State campus area will soon be home to yet another Mexican restaurant.

A new Qdoba Mexican Grill location is opening at 1956 N. High St. in the vacated space that used to be La Bamba, another Mexican restaurant that recently went out of business.

Representatives from Qdoba did not immediately return requests for comment Tuesday afternoon, and it is not known when the restaurant is expected to open.

The campus location will be joining three other Columbus locations at Polaris Parkway, North High Street near Morse Road and West Fifth Avenue.

Qdoba will join other campus-area Mexican restaurants such as Chipotle Mexican Grill, Mad Mex, Cazuelas Grill, Taco Bell, Plaza Mexican Grill, and Burritos, a North Campus dining location.

Qdoba is most similar to Chipotle, as both restaurants market their perspective brands as fresh fast food with carefully selected ingredients, but staff at the Chipotle on campus would not comment on how the new restaurant would be affect their business.
