Fuss over display of Ohio motto silly

There’s a lot of fuss over displaying the official Ohio state motto (“With God all things are possible”), but here’s one angle I haven’t seen in the Lantern. Why is all the fuss about DISPLAYING the motto, rather than its existence in the first place? I mean, since it IS the official state motto, what’s the big deal about merely displaying it? Shouldn’t the ACLU and friends be after changing the motto if they’re consistent? It strikes me as strange that people seem to be saying “Sure, it’s all right to have that as a motto, just keep it out of sight.”
