Is this the same team that beat Iowa?
Well, we’ve done it again. Another potentially great season down the drain. OSU may not have the experience of last year’s team (or even the year before that), but we showed Iowa how well we can play two weeks ago. What happened against Penn State? Let’s take a look at what went right and wrong:Right: Joe Germaine… David Boston… Dee Miller… Michael Wiley…Wrong: 3rd quarter defense (did we have a defense out there?)… 1st quarter fumble (set up Penn State field goal)… Missed field goal with 3 seconds left in the first half… Enis…Cooper said at halftime that his players did the worst job tackling all season in the first half… I did not see much change in the second half. Also, Cooper said that we would see Stanley Jackson again; we did not, but I don’t feel that was a deciding factor. Germaine played excellently, unfortunately, in the final OSU drive in the game, two passes were dropped and they sure seemed like they should have been caught. The way Curtis Enis ran through our defense reminded me of the game against Michigan a couple years back, when Biakabatuka ran for 300+ yards against us and we lost. This time, it seemed like our tackling was just not good enough; Enis (or Harris) was able to gain 5 yards after being hit on nearly every possession.I saw in one poll that OSU was ranked number one in the nation, and Penn State was number seventeen. Was this an upset? Not that I could see.I enjoyed the game, but I would have enjoyed it more had the Buckeyes played up to their ability. Hopefully, the Buckeyes can finish the season out strong and kick Michigan’s ass… Being from Michigan originally, it’s getting hard to explain why we can’t beat Michigan to my friends and family.Good luck Buckeyes.
