Ohio State administrators met in a room packed with Jones Tower residents Thursday night to help alleviate the tension that has been brewing ever since residents signed a petition describing the “hideous living conditions” there two weeks ago.Jones Tower residents were threatening to take OSU to court over the living conditions in the dorm. They were further agitated by the decision to increase rent for the 1998-99 academic year. While one resident described the efforts as “lip service,” others such as Betty Lin thought the meeting was a good beginning. Tower residents will hold another meeting to decide what route to take next, said resident Juergen Steininger.
