Five days have passed, and the whereabouts of the alligator seen Thursday at Mirror Lake are unknown.
University Police have been monitoring the lake for any signs of the alligator, but no further sightings have occurred since Thursday,Lt. Dave Rose said.
Police suspect the reptile may have been captured already, but they are continuing to look for it.
It is possible the alligator was captured and sold this weekend at a local reptile show, Rose said.
University Police are not concerned with who has the alligator, but would like to verify if it has been removed from the lake. Anyone with information should contact University Police at 292-2121.
