The State Route 315 northbound Cannon Drive exit will be closed due to construction starting on May 7, with the southbound entrance to close on June 11.

These closures are due to the ongoing Cannon Drive Relocation project, which has been undertaken by Ohio State to create future flood protection, create developable land, create green space and make way for a future north-south connector.

The northbound exit will remain closed till mid-August, where drivers will be advised to use Goodale Street to Neil Avenue or Lane Avenue to Olentangy River Road.

The southbound entrance is expected to remain closed until late November. Drivers are encouraged to use Neil Avenue to exit campus.

In both cases, detour signs will be posted for assistance.

University spokesman Dan Hedman said the overlapping of the closures will ultimately be beneficial.

“It will reduce the 12th Avenue closure by close to 8 months,” he said.

The first phase of the Cannon Drive Relocation project is set to finish in December 2019.
