For those Ohio State students who have been experiencing chicken wing withdrawal this school year, fear not. The new Buffalo Wild Wings Grill and Bar will open June 25 at its new location on the corner of Lane Avenue and North High Street.

Buffalo Wild Wings has been a campus tradition since the original B-Dubs store opened on East Woodruff Avenue and North High Street 25 years ago, said Nick DiFeo, a manager at the restaurant.

He said he is confident the new restaurant will carry on the tradition.

The new B-Dubs will have two floors with a full bar and an outdoor patio on each level, DiFeo said.

He also said there will be about 40 flat-screen TVs and six large projector TV screens scattered throughout the restaurant.

Although B-Dubs generally sells more food than drinks, DiFeo said the store will offer competitive draft beer prices and other drink specials.

“We do expect a great deal of bar customers especially because we have a prime location,” DiFeo said. “We are going to have a lot of draft beer.”

The restaurant will also have regular events, including a mug night on Mondays, an open mic night on Wednesdays and karaoke on Thursdays. There will also be live music on Friday and Saturday nights throughout the summer.

Courtney Winnen, a bartender at B-Dubs and a senior in strategic communication, said the original B-Dubs store closed after Michigan weekend in the fall.

“They wanted to get going on the new store and the old store was just structurally old,” Winnen said. “We just went out with a bang on Michigan weekend.”

DiFeo said the company decided to close the original store partly because it was too small and they did not want the old building to be the face of the company anymore.

The new location will celebrate its grand opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on June 25, DiFeo said.

He said the first 250 people through the door will receive a card that entitles them to free wings every week for a year.

There will also be a re-grand opening in the fall when most students return for the school year.

DiFeo said this celebration will include a parade led by the Budweiser Clydesdale horses.

“We’ve got big things planned to really let the students know we’re back,” he said.

Allison Arnold, a sophomore in speech and hearing science, said she only visited the old B-Dubs location one time after a football game.

“I think that because (the new location) is bigger more people will go,” she said. “I’ll probably go at lease once just to check it out.”
