The “Blade II” soundtrack features a pairing of hip-hop and electronica music artists on every track. The star-studded album features many critically acclaimed artists such as Ice Cube, Paul Oakenfold, Mos Def, Massive Attack, Mystikal and Moby.
Even though it is a soundtrack, the CD has a lot of substance and can stand on its own. All of the songs are different, yet they are all still united in some way. They compliment each other and keep the rhythm flowing from the first to last track.
The CD starts out with “Blade,” the theme from Blade II, a sleek techno song that sets the mood for the rest of the album. Next, Eve is paired with Fatboy Slim on the song “Cowboy.” This catchy mix is one of the best tracks on the album.
The Roots and BT perform “Tao of the Machine.” This song has a fast dance beat with an electronica sound that keeps the album tempo going.
“We Be Like This” combines the talents of Fabolous, Jadakiss and Danny Saber. It is one of the most successful tracks to combine electronica and hip-hop beats.
Another great track is “PHDream” by Bubba Sparxx and The Crystal Method. The fast rap lyrics are perfectly paired with the rapid electronica beats.
This lively soundtrack promises plenty of pounding beats and aggressive lyrics to fans of high-energy music.
