Ohio State added another four-star prospect to its top-ranked 2018 recruiting class when wideout Chris Olave announced his commitment to the Buckeyes Sunday evening.
The only recruit in Ohio State’s class from California, Olave is the No. 324 overall prospect and the 54th-rated wide receiver in his class, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. Olave is the fourth-lowest rated member of the Buckeyes’ 24-player 2018 class, which includes two five-stars, 20 four-stars and two three-stars.
Olave joins fellow four-star prospects Cameron Brown, Kamryn Babb and L’Christian Smith as the fourth receiver in his class committed to Ohio State. The other three wideouts have already signed their letters of intent.
Given wideout Trevon Grimes’ recent transfer to Florida, a spot opened up for Olave’s commitment. But with all six starting wide receivers on Ohio State’s 2017 team returning, Olave will likely not see much playing time on offense this season.
