Saturday was anything but a fairytale ending for the Buckeyes, as the clock struck midnight during Michigan’s 4-0 victory.
Ohio State (13-10) lost three of four to Michigan (16-4) as both Wolverines starting pitchers in senior left-hander Meghan Beaubien and junior righty Alex Storako tossed two complete games.
The Buckeyes were riding a four-game sweep against Indiana, and they continued that success winning Friday’s opener on a late-game comeback. However, the next two games were not as pleasant as the Buckeyes were outscored 23-7 in both losses.
The rivalry will renew this weekend at Buckeye Field, and much is on the line between two teams entering on long winning streaks and near the top of the standings in the Big Ten Conference.

With a 3-0 victory Saturday to push the weekend advantage to 6-1, No. 9 Ohio State (15-1) steamrolled Michigan (4-5) to keep its season momentum going.
No. 9 Ohio State (14-1) by no means felt obligated to be gracious on its floor while hosting Michigan (4-4,), claiming a 3-1 victory during the first match of their series this season. The night ended the seven-game win streak the Wolverines held over the Buckeyes.
